The COKZ monitors compliance with laws and regulations on quality, food safety and labeling of dairy, eggs and egg products and the marketing standards for poultry meat.
COKZ carries out the following activities:
COKZ works with a total of about 84 employees in the control of dairy products, eggs and poultry meat.
The board of the COKZ consists of six people. The president shall be elected from among the members. Board members are appointed for four-year terms. The appointment of the chairman must be approved by the ministers of EZ and VWS. The ministers of EZ and VWS must agree on the appointment of the remaining members.
COKZ has a director, who is also secretary and treasurer of the board. The day-to-day management of the Foundation rests with the director.
The COKZ is the inspection organisation for dairy and eggs and stands for quality, reliability and a pleasant working environment.

The Stichting Controle Orgaan Kwaliteits Zaken (COKZ) provides certainty about the safety and quality of milk and dairy products, eggs and egg products produced in the Netherlands. This certainty offers the dairy and egg sector better access to (inter)national markets and the guarantee that social requirements are met. In times when export is hampered by calamities, the importance of this is once again evident. For the government, this certainty contributes to the protection of the public interest and to reducing the administrative burden by saving on supervision expenses.
The COKZ is an executive inspection organisation, established on the initiative of the sector and the government, which works strictly according to recognised international norms and quality standards and guarantees the reliability of the results. The independence of COKZ is guaranteed by the appointment of the chairman resp. the other board members of the COKZ require the approval or consent of the Ministers of LVVN and VWS. The board members may not have any interest in dairy farming and/or poultry farming, in the trade of milk, poultry or eggs, in the preparation of or the trade in milk and dairy products or poultry or eggs. The core competence of the COKZ is unparalleled knowledge of (inter)national standards and regulations, quality systems and supervision in the field of dairy and eggs.
In order to continue fulfilling its mission, COKZ strives to continuously strengthen its status as a national and international authority in the field of dairy and egg inspection. COKZ wants to be the obvious discussion partner and preferred supplier for the government and for companies in the field of inspection.
COKZ specializes in quality assurance in the dairy and egg sector. Through its many years of experience, it has developed a great deal of knowledge in technology and logistical processes. This knowledge is an integral part of the inspection and is being further expanded.
Quality assurance starts with the raw materials. COKZ has good contacts with the organizations that carry out inspections and certification in that field. The aim is to use quality assurance systems that have been developed in the food sectors. In this way, the inspection can be focused on process assessment, so that the final product inspection is relieved.
